Aubree Riley leads a different life than most other 17-year-old girls. A native of Perry County Ohio, Riley has spent the last six years of her life touring the state, sharing some her most personal experiences through music.
She has been performing since her family moved to Athens, when she was 11 years old, and taught herself to play guitar. With her love for the instrument, Riley’s style is more what she calls “acoustic pop, but with a mix of late 60s rock.” For the majority of her shows, she performs songs she wrote, that have been inspired by her experiences and the places she’s called home.
“I don’t try to make it sound any certain way, it just comes out,” Riley said of her writing style.
But she says playing to the audience is important in all her shows, so depending on the crowd, she may play some age appropriate covers.
“My goal every night is to make people smile... I write songs that people can relate to,” Riley said.
